Liz and Jon’s Wedding on Saturday, July 18th 2009

July 24th, 2009

Liz and Jon’s wedding brought us back to Williamsburg, Virginia.  The gals got ready at the lovely Williamsburg Inn where we took some group photos before leaving for Williamsburg United Methodist where the ceremony was held.  A 1930’s Duesenberg sat outside the church awaiting the couple’s get away and it was easily the finest antique car I have ever seen.

The reception took place at a relatively new venue, The Resident’s Club at the Settlement, where guests enjoyed cocktails and cigars around the pool.  The patio stayed open all night so that guests could either dance in the ballroom or mingle around the pool.

We loved the guys’ tan, seersucker suits and the puffs of hydrangea arranged in silver tea service sets as table arrangements.  Guests could help themselves to Heath bars of all sizes arranged on the tables and in jars throughout the halls in celebration of the couples’ surname.  In addition to cake, an ice cream sundae bar opened late night and McDonald’s cheeseburgers were served to replenish any lost calories from heavy dancing.  Ryan from Cheers Consulting made sure everything was in its perfect place and that the event went off without a hitch.  Check it out:

It was definitely a party to remember, the kind of event that anyone would want an invitation to.  We knew we were in for a party given that the Skinners know the Wyatt and Lee families… and we were not disappointed!  Here’s a slideshow with our favorites from the day and if you would like to be contacted by email when their gallery is available for viewing, click here.  Liz and Jon, you guys looked amazing and its obvious you had the time of your life, congratulations!

Baby Brayden: Generations

July 24th, 2009

I wish I could take the credit but the idea was all Mommy Amy’s: Amy wanted to gift her parents and in-laws with a photo session as a Mother’s Day/Father’s Day surprise this year.  So we found an afternoon for everyone to gather at Amy and Jeff’s house to take some photos while Brayden hung out with his biggest fans.

What resulted was a fun generational shoot.  Brayden must have felt like the most loved baby on the planet as each grandparent took turns passing him around, playing with him, feeding him a pre-dinner snack, and just plain goofing off.  We might have mixed some more traditional family portraiture in there too.  I couldn’t help but imagine how much fun this will be to do with Fiver and his grandparents!

Here’s a slideshow of the shoot and if you would like to visit the online gallery, click here.  If you want to schedule a generational shoot with for the grandparents in your baby’s life, its a quick one hour shoot priced separately from regular portrait projects – just get in touch!

Baby Amelia Cate at 11 months

July 16th, 2009

She’s got a hyper fast crawl (the trick, I learned, is to keep looking down until you have nearly reached your destination).  She’s got lots of new teeth and is on the very verge of walking… yes, its Miss Amelia Cate!  It was such a nice day that we couldn’t resist spending time in the backyard, exploring the hydrangea, playing with bubbles and checking out the grass.  I can’t believe she’s just about to turn one year old already, this July baby with her bright blue eyes.

This was Amelia Cate’s first experience with bubbles…

She’s putting those choppers to good use so we got some fun shots of summer snack time: peaches!  Mmmmm….

Here’s the slideshow from the session and if you would like to visit the online gallery, click here.  I can’t wait to see her running around soon!
