Angy and Chris’ Wedding

January 14th, 2010

This was a wedding that I was really sad to miss but with the c-section, I didn’t have much choice.  We met Angy’s family when her cousin Ashley married Derek in the fall of 2007 and I was looking forward to seeing everyone again.  In my absence, Sam was joined once again by the fantastic Tasha Tolliver.  Tasha, thank you so much for your time and talent!  I couldn’t wait to hear all about the wedding when Sam got home.

The details were dressed in scrumptious chocolate brown with bright, warm accents and vintage inspired items including Angy’s birdcage veil.  Check out the style swatch:

Angy and Chris are active members at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church where they celebrated a spiritual mass.  Its amazing how much hands can say:

The reception took place at the Country Club at the Highlands in Chesterfield and the party was live.  It was a highly emotional day and Sam and Tasha were treated more like special guests than the hired help, we want to thank the Acosta and Corrigan families for their hospitality and generosity.  Ashley and Myra even brought a little gift for the baby with them, we were so touched!

Here’s a slideshow with some of our favorites from the day and if you would like to see their online gallery, click here.  Congrats, Angy and Chris!

Liz and David’s Engagement Session

January 7th, 2010

orange

Liz and David wanted some urban shots around downtown Richmond so they headed out with Sam on a beautiful fall day to colorful and scenic spots around town.  I’m especially fond of the way the colors jive in front of the Globe Hopper coffee shop:

It was a lucky excursion: in addition to beautiful light, they also hit the tracks near the pipeline just as a train was passing through.  I love this shot especially, Liz and David’s expressions are so sweet with the evening hatch catching the light of late day, adding a little extra photo magic… Who would believe that a swarm of bugs could add such a romantic visual element?  Sam and I are always on the look out for what we call “magic bugs”…

Liz and David are such a dynamic couple, we can’t wait for their wedding in April.  Check out their online gallery with more shots here!
