Jennifer and Kyle’s Engagement Session

December 17th, 2009

Jenn and Kyle took Sam to the place where it all began, the University of Richmond, to take a few engagement photos before heading into the fan with their pup Ellie for a few more.   Ellie got dressed up in her University of Richmond collar for the shoot:

The couple was sure to hit Edo’s Squid while out and about, one of their favorite date spots, resulting in one of my favs from the session:

The couple used this shot to design a save the date magnet with their wedding monogram:

Jesse & Jonathan’s Engagement Photos

April 2nd, 2009

We started off the session at the house Jesse and Jonathan bought together where we hung out with their best friend, Reese.  Just a year and a half old, Reese is a big slobber ball of energy and love!  Check out some Reese shots:

From there we took a stroll down memory lane, a.k.a Strawberry Street in the Fan where the couple lived when they first moved to Richmond.  We got some very “Richmond” shots on the front porch of Jesse’s old apartment, on Monument Avenue and on the water overlooking the city at Belle Isle.  In addition we hit their favorite take out spot, 8 1/2, for a quick bite to eat.  Located right in between their apartments, it was a favorite spot to meet and grab a sub or pizza.  Thanks to the good folks at 8 1/2 for allowing us to take some pics in the restaurant.

We can’t wait for Jesse and Jonathan’s wedding at beautiful Kings Family Vineyards this May… it will be here before we know it!   Here’s a slideshow and if you would like to view the session online, click here!

Jennifer and Tim’s Engagement Portraits

December 19th, 2008

Jennifer and Tim amaze us with their patience to see these, they are just such good people not to mention a great couple.  High school sweethearts, they asked permission to return to school grounds for portraits, making their session particularly personal and meaningful.  As music majors, we took several photos in the school auditorium as well as the stairwells and hallways.  I found myself seeing almost everything in black and white, a medium tied to memory and nostalgia.

The sun peaked through the clouds as we left school grounds for historic Petersburg.  The old train station and surrounding warehouses made a great industrial setting.  While the Christmas decor seemed a bit premature to Sam and I in mid-November, it was perfectly appropriate for Jennifer and Tim who got engaged last Christmas.  Its like they ordered it all up – perfect weather, Christmas decorations, the works!

We know their wedding will be just as awesome, here’s a slideshow with our favorites and if you would like to see their online gallery, click here.  We are definitely looking forward to next May…

We’ll pick up with album posts and tourists pics next year so stay tuned.  Here’s to a rockin’ 2008 and an even better 2009.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everybody!

Angy & Chris’ Engagement Session

December 15th, 2008

Its good to be home.  We’re still a little jet lagged but before we share all kinds of pictures and stories from our travels, there is some unfinished business to attend to.  While we were able to pack a lot of shooting in as we packed our bags, we weren’t able to get as much editing accomplished as we had hoped before catching our flight.  We want to thank Angy and Chris for their kind patience… You guys are the best.

Angy and Chris are all about Richmond so we chose some Richmond-esque locations for their session.  While we were rained out of our first scheduled shoot, the second couldn’t have been nicer weather between all the warm light and autumn color.  Not to mention good company: we enjoyed walking around Belle Isle and Libby Hill Park as we got to know Angy and Chris better.

Here’s a slideshow with our favorites and if you would like to see the entire session online, click here.  We’re already looking forward to next fall when Angy and Chris get married!
