Jill and Todd’s Wedding on April 25, 2009

No one planning a wedding for late April here in Virginia is expecting a high of 96 degrees and yet no one seemed the least bit bothered by the unseasonal heat, least of all Jill and Todd.  The intensity of the sun coupled with the pleasant breeze on the bluff of Tuckahoe Plantation carried the sweet smell of wisteria through the grounds.  Nothing welcomes spring to the South like wisteria…

The outdoor ceremony may have been brief but it was beautiful.  The greenery draped on the arches by Flowers Make Scents resembled Spanish moss hanging from Live Oaks to me.

The decor invoked all the bright, charming and inviting qualities of a spring time Southern wedding.  Bright hand painted signs, mason jars filled with split peas and votive candles, watering cans spilling with hydrangea, bright patterned linens and sweet cupcakes in hues of green and blue made everyone feel welcome.

We had such a great time shooting such a happy and relaxed couple in such a beautiful and historic setting, we wish every wedding could be like this.  Here’s a slideshow with our favs from the day and if you would like to be notified when their online gallery is ready, shoot us an email and we’ll add you to the release list!  Congrats, you guys…
