This week has really been all about puppy pose. I’ve been taking yoga again for the first time in about 10 years, which means that child’s pose is actually my jam right now. (I’m so sore!) But puppy pose came up again last night as I watched my son drop to all fours, front leaned down low, prompting a puppy who was visiting our house that evening to charge him at full speed. It was adorable to watch the man cub and puppy play.
Kids are such curious and loving beings. Its not that I had forgotten these images, many of which included animals, I just haven’t made time and space for blogging as much as I should. Given that the tradition of summer is literally one day away, let’s finish up spring and celebrate the blossoms, feather, fur and fluff.
I was told that Luke had a special bath and grooming session for this shoot and he was looking fleek.
On a much smaller scale… chicks, man! The hatchlings were rather new to the household, the family had incubated the eggs until they hatched and lovingly named each one.
I can’t remember them all but there was Sunny (the yellow one), Lucky (the black one) and my favorite name might have been Chipmunk because that pretty much described him or her. The parents wanted kid portraits but the kids wanted chick portraits.
Isn’t making a chick stack a Dr. Seuss thing?
On the opposite end of the life cycle, an aging friend and family member whom the kids have loved dearly their whole lives was captured against her will and became part of family pictures. I really loved that M wanted to include her.
From the newest baby birds to the oldest kitties, the seasons change fast. Happy almost summer, everyone.
